The DAAD will give an overview of its short-term and year-long scholarships around the world. It will also introduce its funding for conferences and lecture trips as well as the PRIME postdoctoral program.

In this talk, KoWi will focus on the Marie Sklodowska-Curie Fellowship and the ERC Starting Grant for the early postdoctoral phase.

German researchers who wish to take their research abroad can apply for the Feodor Lynen Fellowship, the Research Fellowship Taiwan, and the Research Fellowship Japan awarded by the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation.

The DFG will introduce the Walter Benjamin Programme, the “Temporary Positions for Principal Investigators” module, and the Heisenberg and Emmy Noether Programmes.

We will look at the risks and opportunities for doctoral and early career researchers applying for external funding, such as individual grants and research grants. Using an international perspective, we will present the strategy concept in a research context, illuminate the most important aspects of a competitive application, and give tips on moving from smaller to larger grants.

In this workshop, we will introduce the foundation’s scholarships and grants as well as application criteria. We will take a detailed look at the Feodor Lynen Fellowship, the Research Fellowship Taiwan and the Research Fellowship Japan.
