CARAT-Workshop 2024 "Pre-clinical and translational research in x-ray imaging and spatially fractionated therapy" in Erlangen
Due to the success of our first two international CARAT workshops in 2022 and 2023 we definitely want to continue this series and thus would like to draw your attention to our planned CARAT-Workshop 3 “Pre-clinical and translational research in x-ray imaging and spatially fractionated therapy”, which will take place September 9th-10th, 2024 at the Innovations Center of Siemens Healthineers in Erlangen (Germany).
There are specific medical X-ray applications that are currently being investigated. Among others, these are scanning modalities and multi-scale imaging as well as microbeam therapy. Especially X-ray Fluorescence Imaging (XFI), phase contrast imaging, dark-field-imaging and micro-beam therapy are considered potential candidates for new medical procedures benefiting from advanced X-ray beam sources.
Thus, we would like to gather interested researchers from both science and industry to identify possible applications for such specific medical applications, identify research directions, which could be worked on in a multi-center approach and also to gain an overview of ongoing or planned research projects. The workshop aims at match-making between the applications and research, as well as to identify working groups or starting points for consortia to answer the upcoming questions in the field.
The agenda is not finalized. We intend to realize talks on clinical oncology, preclincial research in FLASH, photon mini- and mircobeams, various approaches to provide the required radiation incl. industrial and research systems, X-ray fluorescence multi-scale imaging and visualization as well as a match-making marketplace format.
