We are pleased to announce a course on Python in the framework of the Methods Academy of our RTG. Please find the details below:
Dates and times: 17th to the 18th of October 2024, 09:00 – 17:00 on both days
Instructor: Fabrizio Damicelli, PhD
This practical introductory course will cover the basics of the Python language as a basis for scientific computing and data analysis tasks.
Beginner-level students should profit from topics/tasks that will get them quickly off the ground writing non-trivial code, while intermediate-level students will also find useful content to take their skills to next level, e.g. lazy pipelines for large data, duck-typing.
The course will combine explanations with exercises for each topic as well as some integrative mini-projects.
Prerequisites/Knowledge:
- no previous Python or programming knowledge is assumed
Please find the tentative programme attached.
Fabrizio Damicelli holds a PhD in computational science from the Institute of Computational Neuroscience at UKE. He currently works as a Data Scientist at one of the leading e-commerce platforms in Europe. More details here: https://fabridamicelli.github.io/
