We are pleased to announce a workshop on HiTOP in the framework of the Methods Academy of the RTG 2753. Please find the details below:

Date and time: 24th of March 2025, 14:00 – 18:30

Instructor: Dr. Katherine Jonas, Stony Brook University

Venue: online on Zoom

The Hierarchical Taxonomy Of Psychopathology (HiTOP) framework is an effort of nosologists from various mental health disciplines to improve the organization, description, and measurement of psychopathology. The researchers working in the field expect that these insights will facilitate research and clinical practice, improving their precision, impact, and evidentiary basis.

For this workshop Dr. Katherine Jonas has developed an interactive programme based on the backgrounds and needs of our PhD students and postdocs, particularly incorporating the examples of the projects C2 and C3, but also leaving plenty of opportunity to discuss the ways that the HiTOP framework can be beneficial for other projects within the RTG.

Please refer to the attached programme for more details.

Dr. Katherine Jonas is an Assistant Professor at Stony Brooks University. She is interested in the course of psychotic disorders, and in particular, how genetic risk factors impact a person’s symptoms, course of illness, and response to treatment. Dr. Jonas has been involved in development of the HiTOP assessments, as well as field trials evaluating the feasibility and tolerability of HiTOP-based assessments in clinical practice. Dr. Jonas is a member of the HiTOP consortium and has had an active role in developing existing workshops and planning future workshops on HiTOP.
