This workshop aims to introduce the basics of science communication, as well as to give you an opportunity to gain practical experiences in scicom and further improve your communication skills. Specifically, three formats of science communication will be covered in detail in interactive sessions: elevator pitch/FameLab, podcasting, and social media/writing for the public. For each of these formats you will be provided with input, as well as a chance to practice and reflect on your result with assistance from Daniel Hölle.
Dr. Daniel Hölle has a PhD in neuropsychology from the Carl von Ossietzky Universität Oldenburg. During his PhD he participated in science slams and initiated a science podcast “I am Scientist”, which he continues to co-host. He turned his passion for science communication into a profession and currently works for the European Science Communication Institute in Oldenburg.
