Description

Binding Matters

A one-day symposium about the science that stuck with us, in structural biology and beyond.

During the pandemic, many of us were part of the Coronavirus Structural Task Force — a group brought together not by funding or mandates, but by urgency, curiosity, and the shared belief that good 3D structures of molecules matter. We spent two years checking models and fixing data problems.

But that work did not end with the virus. Binding Matters is a day to talk about the things we are working on now: interesting molecules, new cool methods and surprising results. About what excites you.

We do not expect you to present polished paper-ready results.
It’s a space for sharing what lights us up in structural biology — whether it’s a beautiful fold, a weird binding mode, some interesting diffraction data or a method we think more people should use.

Format: Short, personal talks, open discussion, plenty of time for coffee and connections. We will serve afternoon tea/coffee & dinner.

When & where:
23rd of May 2025, HARBOR Bldg. 610 on the Bahrenfeld Campus / DESY, Luruper Chaussee 149, 22761 Hamburg, Germany

Important: Please let us know if you are unable to attend on short notice. This helps us plan the schedule and food accordingly. Thank you!
