We are pleased to announce a course on Python in the framework of the Methods Academy of the RTG 2753. Please find the details below: 

Dates and times: 10th to the 12th of November 2025, 09:00 – 15:00 on all days             

Instructor: Fabrizio Damicelli, PhD

Venue: UHH campus at Von-Melle-Park 5, room info to follow.

This practical introductory course will cover the basics of the Python language as a basis for scientific computing and data analysis tasks.

Beginner-level students should profit from topics/tasks that will get them quickly off the ground writing non-trivial code, while intermediate-level students will be able to improve their understanding of the language, taking their skills to next level.

 

The course will combine explanations with exercises for each topic as well as some integrative mini-projects.

 

Prerequisites/Knowledge:

- no previous Python or programming knowledge is assumed

- Installation instructions will be provided beforehand

Fabrizio Damicelli holds a PhD in computational science from the Institute of Computational Neuroscience at UKE. He currently works as a Data Scientist at one of the leading e-commerce platforms in Europe. More details here: https://fabridamicelli.github.io/ .
