We are pleased to offer a course on Representational Similarity Analyses of fMRI data as part of the Methods Academy of the RTG 2753. Please see the course dates and times below:
20th to the 21st of June 2023, 13:00 – 17:00 on both days
This course will provide an introduction into Representational Similarity Analyses (RSAs) of fMRI data. Participants will gain a comprehensive overview of the theoretical foundations of this multivariate analysis method, its applications and resources available to implement RSAs. Using examples from memory research, the group will be guided through the different stages of conducting RSAs, from preprocessing and preparing the fMRI data to interpreting second-level results.
The course will include a significant practical component each day, providing participants with hands-on experience with RSAs and tools that can be applied to both multivariate and univariate analyses of fMRI data.
Prerequisites:
- Skills: Basic knowledge of MATLAB and experience in SPM (for practice sessions)
- Software: preinstalled Matlab and SPM12
The instructor, Valentina Krenz, is a PhD candidate at the Cognitive Psychology Lab at the Universität Hamburg. Her research focusses on neurocognitive mechanisms and modulators of memory changes over time.
