SICSS Introduction Course 2023

Welcome to the registration pages!

Take a moment to find out what our introduction course is all about:

The focus of the SICSS Introduction Course is on climate science. The scientific contributions will cover all relevant climate related research areas and thus will allow you as a new SICSS member to broaden not only your scientific competence, but will also broaden your view on climate research far beyond your specific research topic. Learning about different scientific approaches and methods applied in various disciplines will allow you to locate your individual research within a broader context. We trust this to be an important prerequisite for achieving excellency.

We believe that the building of a strong network forms another important pillar for a successful and timely doctorate. The SICSS Introduction Course will thus also include some networking activities. There will be plenty of time to connect with each other!

The SICSS Office will also give you some input on the structural aspects and career perspectives of your doctorate in the Introduction Course.

Please note that the Introduction Course is a mandatory course in the structured doctoral program of SICSS. You have to participate once in this course, preferably at the beginning of your doctorate.

Note that you will stay in double rooms! If interested, find a room mate prior to the course. All expenses (travel, accommodation & food) will be covered by SICSS.

On November 3, prior to the Intro Course, the Intercultural Training will take place. It is a one-day event (9:00-16:30) at Grindelberg 5, room 008 or R 1012 (will be announced). Please register for this again on the registration page, even if you have already sent us a registration email. Thanks. Note that this course is also mandatory to all SICSS members.
