Thematic Talks @ SICSS Retreat 2025
On your first day (June 2, 15:30 - 16:15) of the retreat you will get the chance to hear two interesting talks on the following topics:
- "Pychological Counseling” by Remon Sadikni
This talk will introduce you to our mental health group offer where you can talk about your problems and feelings as well as strengthen your resilience in a safe and supportive environment. The group is led by Remon Sadikni, a researcher and lecturer at the University of Hamburg, who completed a two-year person-centered therapy training.
- "Ombuds Matters” by Dr Carmen Schüler
Carmen works for the Ombuds office which offers advising services on good research practice and the prevention of research misconduct. The presentation provides an overview of the rules of good scientific practice based on topics that are particularly relevant for ECRs. It introduces the ombuds system at the University of Hamburg and thus provides guidance on where to turn in the event of questions and conflicts in research practice.
