About the trainer

Simran Sekhri became convinced that how researchers think matters as much as what they discover, and has built her work around training exactly that. She facilitates workshops, delivers lectures, and speaks at academic events on the intersection of cognitive science, creativity, and scientific practice. Most recently, she was a guest speaker at the EUGLOH "Making an Impact" event.

She holds a doctorate in Natural Sciences from the University of Hamburg and has been recognized with the DAAD Scientific Excellence Award, the Women in Science Honor by the Federal Foreign Office and DAAD, and the Best Soil Science Case Study Award by CABI (2025). She was a member of the founding board of directors of ESRAH (Earth and Society Research Hub) at the University of Hamburg.

Her approach is practical and research-backed, built around the belief that creative competency is a skill, not a trait. You can find her on LinkedIn: www.linkedin.com/in/simransekhri

We are proud that Simran was a member of our Graduate School SICSS!
