The RTG 2753 is pleased to announce an advanced course on Python in the framework of its Methods Academy. 

Please find the details below:

Dates and times: 18th to the 19th of November 2026, 09:00 – 16:00 on both days

Instructor: Fabrizio Damicelli, PhD

Venue: UHH campus at Von-Melle-Park 5, room 4018

This practical course with focus on scientific computing and data analysis will build upon the introductory Python course by Dr. Fabrizio Damicelli that took place in November 2025. The participants will improve their understanding of Python and further enhance their software engineering skills and best practices.

 

The course will combine explanations and hands-on exercises, as well as integrative mini-projects to consolidate the concepts.

 

Prior knowledge and additional info:

·      Basic Python knowledge is required

·   Participation in the introductory course in November 2025 is not a prerequisite, however:

o   Participants are requested to go through the “Recap” sections from the free online material specified in the attached programme ahead of the course

o   Additionally, the course will include “Recap” sections at the start

o  To further ensure any issues are resolved beforehand, an optional 1-hour Zoom session will be offered by Fabrizio Damicelli ca. 1 week ahead of the course to answer any questions.

Fabrizio Damicelli holds a PhD in computational science from the Institute of Computational Neuroscience at UKE. He currently works as a Data Scientist at one of the leading e-commerce platforms in Europe. More details here: https://fabridamicelli.github.io/ .
