Let’s talk about interdisciplinary research!
Join fellow Early Career Researchers from CLICCS for two half days of reflection, exchange, and future-oriented inspiration.
This year's ECR Retreat will focus on interdisciplinarity and working together in CLICCS.
Together, we will explore what interdisciplinary research means in practice, how different disciplinary perspectives can complement and challenge one another, and how we can make the most of the diversity of expertise within CLICCS.
The retreat will be interactive and participatory. Through discussions, practical exercises and exchange with colleagues from different disciplines and projects, we will reflect on:
- what makes interdisciplinary collaboration work and what makes it difficult,
- how different disciplines approach questions, methods and evidence,
- where we see connections and opportunities across CLICCS,
- what we can learn from experiences such as the Hamburg Thought Experiment,
- how to develop an interdisciplinary profile while maintaining disciplinary depth, visibility and career opportunities,
- and how we can turn interesting connections into potential future collaborations.
We will also use the CLICCS Conceptual Map to explore where our own work is situated within the wider CLICCS research landscape and where we might connect with other projects, disciplines and perspectives.
The retreat is therefore intended to be a space to meet colleagues, exchange experiences, ask questions, try things out and think together. You will have opportunities to reflect on your own research and career, but also to work with others and develop ideas beyond your immediate project.
The program is currently being finalised and may still change slightly.
Be ready to engage, exchange ideas, and connect with others across CLICCS — and perhaps discover a few unexpected connections along the way..
Let’s reflect – connect – and move forward, together.
